Privacy Policy
Effective April 7, 2026
We built Honey Where's My?! to help you figure out what your stuff is worth. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. No legalese, just plain talk.
Who We Are
Honey Where's My

What We Collect
Photos
When you scan an item, your phone camera captures a photo. That photo is sent to the Google Gemini API so it can identify the item and estimate a value. We do not store your photos on our servers. They live on your device only. The identification service processes the image briefly and does not retain it.
Barcode Scanning
When a barcode is detected, only the barcode number (not the photo) is sent to UPCitemdb for product lookup. No personal information, location data, or images are transmitted during barcode lookups. We do not use barcode data to infer purchase history.
GPS / Location Data
If you allow it, we record low-accuracy GPS coordinates at scan time to help you remember where items were scanned. This is completely optional.
- Location data is stored only on your device (never on our servers).
- There is no background location tracking. GPS is only requested when you actively scan.
- Location names (like "Dad's Warehouse") are stored locally and never shared.
- Exact GPS coordinates are not included in CSV exports or shared content by default.
Inventory Data
Your scanned inventory (item names, values, categories, photos, notes) is stored only on your device in your browser's local storage. We do not have access to your inventory. We never sell inventory data to third parties or share it with advertisers. AI-generated valuations are estimates only, not professional appraisals.
Email Address
If you subscribe through Stripe, we collect your email address. We use it only for account management and payment receipts. That's it.
Usage Data
We use Meta Pixel to track anonymous usage patterns, like page views, scan events, and subscriptions. This helps us understand how people use the app and deliver relevant advertising through Meta. The Pixel never sees your photos, inventory, item values, or GPS data. You can opt out of tracking in the app's Settings.
Payment Data
Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide the scanning and identification service
- To process your payments
- To improve app accuracy over time
- To deliver relevant advertising through Meta
Third-Party Services
We work with these outside services to make the app run:
- Google Gemini API for AI-powered item identification and value estimates (Google Privacy Policy)
- UPCitemdb for barcode product lookups (UPCitemdb Privacy Policy)
- Stripe for payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy)
- Meta / Facebook for analytics and advertising (Meta Privacy Policy)
- Cloudflare for hosting and security (Cloudflare Privacy Policy)
Data Security
All data transmitted between your device and third-party services uses HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher encryption. Your inventory, photos, and location data are stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. We do not operate any servers that store user data. We practice data minimization: we collect only what is needed to provide the service.
How Long We Keep Data
- Photos: We do not retain them. They stay on your device only.
- Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted on request.
- Analytics: Anonymized data retained for up to 2 years.
Your Rights
- You can delete local data anytime by clearing your browser data.
- Email us at hello@honeywheresmy.com to request account deletion.
- California residents: You have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

This app is not intended for anyone under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.
Future Features
We may introduce cloud storage, a marketplace, or an API in the future. If we do, we will update this policy before launching those features to explain any new data collection, storage, or sharing. We will notify you of material changes and give you the choice to opt in.
